MOD POST: OCTOBER PLOTS + A REMINDER
Hey guys! It's a little belated, but here's the October plots! Stick around afterwards, since there's an important reminder about our policies.
Day 155-157 (October 7-12), a strange and horribly timed series of events will take place. This plot was an idea by Dawn (player of
snugglesjugs)! Please thank her for her efforts!
On the morning of Day 155 (Oct 7), the city will be overgrown by plants. Vines of all kinds, some with small pink and white flowers, and various weed stalks taller than a man will transform the city into something like a jungle. The plants will not enter any building with closed doors and windows, but if you leave your windows open at night you might wake up with some unplanned greenery. Attempts to clean up the plants will just result in them growing back instantly. Overnight (Oct 8), light winds flower petals and leaves will blow in anywhere that isn't sealed, coating everything in planty bits.
On Day 156 (Oct 9), the clean-up crew will arrive! At dawn, a huge herd of grazing animals will come in the open Gates of Fog and Fire. They will eat the plants, but interacting with them has effects as well. Being kind to the animals will get the characters a prize, and being mean to them will result in beastly transformations to the characters themselves. The animals will last through the evening of Day 158 (Oct 12), at which point the plant life will be entirely cleared and the animals will leave by the gates (and promptly disappear). The animals can be eaten if they are killed, but it will cause a transformation to do so. They can be tamed as pets (and if they are, won't leave). Characters may receive up to one curse and one prize each.
The prizes and curses for interacting with the animals are as follows:
Gift will be received at the once the animals leave. If you are choosing a gift from your character's home world, you must get it approved by the mods first. Reply to the appropriate comment in this post to do so. The ice cream party will be at a shop in Baldr and will have an open log posted the day after the event (Oct. 13).
These transformations will last from the time of action to the end of the event, and into the next day (Oct 13-14) if the player so desires. Vegetable lambs will be rooted in place, with a 6-foot range from their stalk, and will find the stalk a part of their body (so it would be like cutting them in half to cut them loose).
And for everyone, Day 158 (Oct. 13) will find each character a nice glass of cold milk by their bed.
This event is ICly caused by Utgard!Loki, and afterwards Asgard!Loki will be going over to explain to his twin about how "this is war you jackass can you be any less sensitive". After a good long brotherly discussion, the rest of the October plotting begins!
On Day 159 (Oct 15), there will be an NPC post that will set the tone for the game through the end of Arc 1. Utgard!Loki will have joined Asgard (for now), and with his intel it will become clear that battle will be happening in the next few IC weeks. From that point on, it's full on "war time". We'll be allowing sign-ups for a variety of IC "prep groups" from now until their IC creation at that time.
These groups will be organized in order to create camaraderie and prepare the city for the inevitable battle (which will take place in early-mid November). You are welcome to hop into any of these groups at any time from now until the end of the Arc 1 plotting, but they will be "officially" formed from here until October 15. If you sign up now, you'll also have the option to volunteer to lead the group. Please be aware that leading a group means being involved in the plotting through November. We'll choose three people to "head" each group, and they'll be in charge of running plotting posts and any logs outside of the main plot logs in November. This means if you're leading a group, you're in charge of what they do through October, and you'll have to work with the other leaders and with the mods if you need the gods or you need questions answered and plottings approved. Please see the Plot Doc if you want a bit of early projection of what's happening in November and for ICly available background info you might need.
Please remember that due to this plotting, there will be no app round in November. Apps will resume their monthly schedule in December.
AND LASTLY, a reminder about our policies on OOC conflicts. If there is ever a case where you feel another player is bullying you or otherwise making you uncomfortable, you can always come to us with it. We do our best to be fair to everyone involved, and we are always available to mediate discussions between players who want to work things out between them or to discuss options for problems that have gone beyond simple mediation. We have no tolerance for serious bullying, and do not have a strike system with these offenses. While most cases result in a discussion and warning, severe cases of bullying or harassment can result in a ban on first offense.
Also, you are always, always encouraged to come to us with feedback about the mod team. If it's a mod or helper that's made you uncomfortable, please contact one of the other mods through their personal plurk/im/pms! We will keep your identity secret in any conflict where possible, and the mods are never above our own conduct rules.
While we're talking about this, we'd also like to officially lay out our policies on the player of objectionable/controversial/frequently triggering content. If you are not comfortable even reading about the playing of rape/abuse/etc, please stop here.
Our policy on these things is very simple. We do not police the content of threads in Asgard. If you would like to play situations of gore, abuse, drug use, rape, etc, you are allowed to do so. However, you must always comm lock and leave clear warnings for this content. If there is a warning, it's understood that those uncomfortable with the topic will not subject themselves to the threads containing it. You must also always, always ask permission and allow players to opt out of involvement with the subject, even if it means stretching ICness (in not having your victim character talk to an IC friend with a mun who is not comfortable, etc) or going otherwise out of your way. Pushing other players into playing these sorts of things or retaliating against them for declining to is an immediately bannable offense. We will not tolerate that kind of harassment under any circumstances, though you will be given opportunity to explain any questionable behavior before decisions are made.
On the other hand, harassing and bullying players for playing something you don't like is also unacceptable. You are welcome to think something is not tastefully portrayed and to talk about/crit on the subject, but if it crosses the line to bullying it will be handled just like any other case of harassment regardless of what subject was being played out.
In all cases of OOC issues, your privacy will be respected and we will make the fairest decision possible. We always do our best to keep the game safe and comfortable for everyone, so please never be afraid to approach us for help! :)
That's it for this month! Questions as always can be directed to the appropriate thread below!

Re: MOD QUESTIONS: THE MILKENING
1) Camel - Can the Goblet create Everclear, and what quality of alcohol does it make (e.g. Vodka in a Plastic Bottle, Absolut or Chopin?)? (Basically - curious about the quality and whether it could technically be used as the goblet of never-ending chemistry/disinfectant supplies.)
2) Weapon - What restrictions are present on the type of weapon requested? I know it's of Good Quality, but just want to know if there's any restriction on type.

There should be other groups as well I think because some characters (like mine) don't possess any of those talents whatsoever. There could be groups for gathering supplies and distributing them for example. There could be people assigned for cooking as well. Is there anything that can be done in regards to this or is this going to be a player oriented thing?

OCTOBER PLOTTING: GROUP SIGN-UPS
Militia -- If you'd like to get involved in something like this, please check out Arthur Pendragon's current efforts.
Medic Corps -- For characters who with medical skills or healing-related powers. They'll have access to all the medical supplies brought from Utgard or by the elves and will be working with the Elven healers (who can be NPCd by pinging a mod if needed). Before the fight they'll be talking about how to act during battle and how to manage a makeshift hospital if needed. They'll be given the Colosseum in the Arena in Thor district to prepare for that eventuality.
Army Engineers -- For characters with construction/weaponmaking skills and the like. These guys will be hanging with some Elven machinists! They'll be prepping for keeping buildings together if they get partially destroyed, building emergency bridges, and organizing the best way to get people and supplies across a battlefield. They are in charge of how the supplies are run and the armory kept.
District Watches -- These are small groups charged with patrolling their assigned districts until the battle is over. They'll keep an eye out for signs of infiltration and, if battle starts, enforce curfews. There will only be two leaders per district for this position.
If you're signing up for any of these, please include the following:

Do you play a Non-combatant character like I do? Would you be interested in getting some other, Non-God sponsored groups to help out with? I'm thinking like a group for preparing supplies, another for food if people end up evacuated.
Anybody interested in setting something like that up?
