Hi, Snape mun here, otherwise known as Alex! I've wanted to get this post up sooner than I have but blah, health issues have made it a bit difficult to get my thoughts together about it. :c BUT. As some of you may recall, Snape made this post on the network about starting up classes! Well, some information about said classes and, eventually, school:

While classes are going to be starting out in the library for the time being (I'm in the process of writing up a timetable of classes and what things are taught on what days), Snape has put in a business application to be granted a loan to build a school. Here is a very basic rundown of the school! I'll be adding more details to it as I work more details out! That is just the bare bones atm. (School rules will also be added; I'm currently in the process of writing those out, too.)

Classes are at the moment only offered to people 18 years and under. However! Classes will become available to adults if enough people are interested in their adult characters undertaking education.

So, just out of interest: who would be interested in their adult characters attending the school as students?

If your character is 18 or under and wants to attend classes/Snape's school, please leave a comment here so I can add your character to the student list.

The school will need teachers! Can your character teach? Is there something your character would like to teach? There are only four prerequisites for a character to do so:
1) your character must be 18+ to be a teacher
2) your character must be canonically skilled in the subject area
3) the subject isn't already being taught by someone else
4) your name isn't Lord Voldemort or Barty Crouch Jnr. ~~SORRY, VOLDEMORT AND BARTY, SNAPE ISN'T GOING TO LET YOU ANYWHERE NEAR HIS STUDENTS, YOU PAIR OF EVIL BOLLOCKS.~~
If you'd be interested for your character to teach, please leave a comment here! There is an "official" thread for having your character sign up to be a teacher but that thread won't be opening until Snape's school is built and open. In the meantime, please leave a comment here expressing your interest and we can chat about it!

To make the school interactive, there will be a House point system where people can earn (and lose) points for their House. It worked well with keeping people in line in Hogwarts, so Snape will be implementing the same in his school, haha. Thus far, I'm thinking school Houses will directly coincide with Asgard Houses; so, if your character is in Hel, for example, then they will also be in Hel House in the school.

Which brings me to how the points will be issued! At the moment, I'm thinking that the easiest way to go about it is for there to be contests at the school where people have to work together? Which will also benefit Asgard itself by helping to bring colour to the city due to people having to help one another/having to work together. One of the mods mentioned to me that Freyr would be willing to give small prizes now and again, as well.

I have made a thread specifically for suggesting contest/point earning ideas. Please, please, please - don't hesitate to leave ideas if you have them! Doesn't matter how silly you might think they are, suggest them! If you'd prefer to do so in private, you can of course hit me up with a private message on DW, or send me a private plurk!

I'm also thinking of doing a thing where people will have random chances to earn points for their House once a month based on using a RNG.

How points will be lost is if characters break the school rules in any way. Again, I'm in the process of writing out/working out school rules, so there'll be more info on losing House points once I've done that.

Yesss because most of Snape's knowledge of healing is his own magic. He only knows really basic things, like applying bandaids, because of having a Muggle father (who probably put them on him if his mother didn't tend to them magically first). ANYWAY, RAMBLING. Yes. Yes, yes yes. This sounds perfect. :D

Copy/pasting what I said in other comments bc I'm lazy: I'll be posting up a list once I'm a bit more organised of who is teaching what and what departments there are and who heads them and etc etc, all based off the conversations in this post. So, look out for that in the near future! :D And then I'll work out a timetable of when things are taught and by whom according to who's available when in-game (I'll ask people to give their character's typical weekly roster, if they do anything on a particular day, such as work in a shop, etc), so everyone knows what's happening. Idk if that makes sense. I hope it does?! :D?

Because I don't have time to thread them, I'm handwaving all the interviews Snape would have had with everyone who expressed interest in teaching (unless a particular interview would be in some way plot changing - like if Barty Crouch Jnr tried to get into the school dkjhdfg, but anyway - that kind of thing; or unless someone just really wants to role-play their character being interviewed), so if it's okay with you, Snape would learn of Merlin's experience through said handwaved interview. But only if that's okay with you!! I won't assume that if you're not cool with it. c:

ADDING ONTO THE END OF THAT, THOUGH: I will ask for a "handwavy disclaimer" from everyone with the next post just so it's all official and in one place, so everyone knows what's happening. No one has to agree to it/fill it out, but just for convenience if people do.
