Hey all! Faith here with yet another player poll for you, because there's nothing more fun in this world than filling out absurd polls. This one is for March's plot event, Burning Bridges, so as usual, please do pardon my ramblin' ways and try to read through all of this if you can!

The Giants are being extremely rude neighbours and partying all night long, with excessive noise pollution and destruction of public property. Unfortunately, we don't have handy jingle to summon the police, so it's up to the Travellers to decide how to handle the situation!

This poll is not to determine one singular action that will take place. This is more to gauge the Travellers' priorities and where they will be putting the most of their efforts. There are a million possible outcomes from any given amount of response and anything is possible, which means that deciding which way to lean is going to be super obnoxious for you! Yay!

There are pros and cons to consider for every possible way this battle can go. I'll list a few to consider below, but there are others that may or may not have weight on the outcome of the battle, so try to give some thought to your decision before acting - as that is rather the point of this exercise! The Travellers are being given more and more responsibility, so they need to make sure they consider all sides of the war before moving forward blindly, which means you guys have more to consider as well. This poll measures IC actions, so please vote ICly for what your character will plan to do in the battle!

Without further ado, let's get right into it!

1. Join the fight and focus on the Frost Giants.
   • pros:
     • Thrymheim is closer than Muspellheim, making it easier to force them back into their kingdom.
     • The battle would follow them into Thrymheim and continue on their own turf.
     • Thiazi sucks and everyone hates her.
   • cons:
     • This would indirectly help the Fire Giants.
     • Thiazi's hatred for the Travellers will be further fuelled.
2. Join the fight and focus on the Fire Giants.
   • pros:
     • This would thwart Surt's second attempt at invading another kingdom.
     • This would weaken their already strained forces.
     • Surt is a bully and nobody really likes him either.
   • cons:
     • This would indirectly help the Frost Giants.
     • Surt will be pushed into desperation and wrath.
3. Join the fight and focus on all Giants en masse.
   • pros:
     • The battle will end faster as all forces are scattered.
     • Possible collateral damage may be at a minimum.
     • Mutual hatred is assured.
   • cons:
     • This would draw the focus onto the Travellers.
     • Neither side will be vastly weakened, but both will be vastly outraged.
4. Do not join the fight and focus on damage control inside the city.
   • pros:
     • Resources and energy reserved for survival rather than interference.
     • Less direct combat means less direct violence, which is naturally more dangerous.
     • Maybe if we stay real quiet like, they'll forget we're here.
   • cons:
     • There is no restriction on the damage they might cause.
     • There is no telling how long the battle may ensue.
5. Other.
   • We will, as always, leave an open option to anything else you guys might want to do. If you choose to suggest an alternate option, be prepared to explain your suggestion and the benefit of choosing that path.

These are just some of the many many things to consider between each option, so please feel free to use this post to discuss amongst yourselves. You can ask us questions as well, but we won't give any definitive answers as to the possible conclusion of each path. It's like Choose Your Own Adventure; reading ahead to the last pages won't exactly tell you what really happened.

POWERS WORKING OUTSIDE THE CITY?

I may have missed this, but I read everything over twice and don't see any mention of how powers will work in enemy territory, so!

Will the plot to extend the range of the Travelers' powers be happening before this event and will the Travelers know their range has been extended? Otherwise experience dictates that Travelers will be powerless by the time they reach either Thrymheim or Muspellheim without intervention from the already overextended gods.

ESPIONAGE/SUBTERFUGE:
Split up into two groups and have one group focus on making the ice giants think the fire giants are moving on them while the other one tries to make the fire giants think the ice giants are onto them. If there are 2nd and 3rd level Odin players, put them in the appropriate groups, ie; fire users go and screw with the ice giants and ice users go and help screw with the fire giants.

Get the two factions to go after each other and whittle away the survivors.

Sherlock is going to put in a vote for this, but I want to make it clear that he wants a combination of "fortify Asgard and play spies." Otherwise, he thinks the giants can take care of each other.

Sabotage! The above comment is close to what I was thinking for Kieran in that it's sneaky and doesn't involve taking a specific side -- he'll use his body control to spy on the fight, make the giants take each other out, and take the giants out via puppeting so they think they're betraying each other.

Originally I voted Other, but I had to change my vote when I realized belatedly Jesse wouldn't be interested in the idea of interfering the Giants fights on either side. He will be in the party of "take care of the city and try not to get their attention".
