MOD POST: PLAYER POLL: GASP SHOCK AWE
Hey, all! Faith here on her player journal with the first of many player polls to determine this month's plots. This one is pertinent to Gasp Shock Awe, wherein one of the Travellers has not only been feeding information to Thiazi to work against the gods but actively attempting to sabotage the war efforts to bring Ragnarok into fruition. What a jerk!
But hey, that's Satan for you. Surprise!
Here's some background information of his charges:
This is the information your character will have prior to voting. Their options are as follows:
Please remember to vote ICly and only vote once per character. The poll will be considered closed on Sept. 5 at 11:59PM CST. Let us know if you have any questions!
But hey, that's Satan for you. Surprise!
Here's some background information of his charges:
- Back during the Burning Bridges plot in March, Satan got in contact with Thiazi via one of her underlings, seeing her as a viable option for effectively ending the universe.
- During Something Significant in May, he made up visions of smoke and flame to lead the Travellers and the gods to falsely suspect Surt's involvement in the loss of magic in Ginnungagap.
- Following the city's militarisation, he informed Thiazi of the Asgard's movement, leading her to attack during Christmas in July.
- After the failure of Down the Rabbit Hole to produce anything valuable from Satan's fake vision, the gods were onto his shenanigans.
- As a last ditch effort at meddling with the gods hot on his tail, Satan performed a ritual on Thiazi's black ice to "infect" himself with her corrupted magic. He then broke through the barrier around the castle in an attempt to assassinate the sleeping Queen of Asgard, but was caught before he could reach her bedroom.

Actually, I guess if execution wins they wouldn't need to step up all "LET US DO IT, WE'RE VERY GOOD AT IT" but I can't see them wanting to let him walk away, so any of the other options would probably trigger them plotting some death. (I am not saying they would have to succeed at this.)
eta some thoughts from Satan here
eta2: even if the poll does go to execution I could see them potentially planning their own thing just in case it doesn't but yeah okay I'll stop editing now

This depends largely on where the poll goes, but we'd very likely be down for letting you guys try to swing something here. The biggest problem would be that any imprisonment wouldn't go to the common jail being used for people breaking curfew or things like that, he'd probably be kept beneath the castle in a legitimate sort of cell.
The other problem is that the gods are giving this decision to the Travellers as part of the whole letting them weigh in on affairs around their presence here, rather than just saying "this is how we're doing things and you have to put up with it." Odin is 10000% pro-execution, but it's not his choice to make anymore, and if the Assassins take that decision away from the Travellers, there would be some beef. He's very big on keeping to his word and the audacity of them presuming their judgment is worth more than the rest of the city's would do some real damage to any sort of trust or leniency being given to them, and they might just wind up in that same prison themselves.
Basically: we'd have some nuances to discuss before we could give you the green to go on anything like this, but we're definitely willing to discuss the possibility!!

I think we'd all definitely be okay with some consequences as long as they're not so huge they totally derail our ability to play. If failure/the stage at which they fail would make a difference in the gods' response, we could also work that in.
Should we set up a group plotting plurk or dw post, or do y'all needs to discuss things on the modly end before discussing possibilities with us?

Also maybe imprison him too because otherwise what'll really stop him from doing it again?? Unless you don't even resurrect him, of course.

Seriously, though, there are points where Mari will go "KILL THE FUCKER" and potentially contributing to the destruction of her world is one of them.
... Except when they're not sure. Whoops~

Jerk Option
[Someone might still be a little bitter about getting his ass beat by a garbage pail kid.]
best of a couple worlds option?

He's likely going to be really upset about Satan's actions - especially the one that lead to Thiazi attacking the city, since it directly affected someone he cares for and he tends to get very protective in those cases. Given that and the fact he doesn't care much for traitors, he's not going to be entirely opposed to the idea of execution (and might voice something along those lines himself because lolhothead). While there's a good chance that he'll calm down enough to go with the 'put him in jail' camp, if there's enough fighting over this (which I suspect there might be), he might also just get frustrated enough to throw his hands in the air and tell everyone to do what they want with him.
Since that's really hard to determine until it actually happens, though, I'm going with a 'his vote will be determined by what plays out ICly' option with a lean towards the put him in prison option if it absolutely has to be that cut and dried.

He is, however, not likely to be at all interested in setting him free again. He's already betrayed them the once, and he'd be less than willing to have the same old thing play out again.
