Event: Spelling Bee Skills: Shion was a child prodigy, accepted as an elite citizen and placed into extremely advanced schooling at the age of two due to his placement on intelligence assessments. While his track in was ecology as opposed to literature, the school system managed to teach their students about a wide variety of fields before the age of 12, and thus Shion knows a little bit of everything.... that an incredibly advanced dystopian society would teach him, that is.
However, to make up for the lack of literature (aside from textbooks, he's had never read a hard copy book in his life), he recently begun spending all of his free time reading a wide variety of books (mostly classics such as Shakespeare, Faust, classic poetry, etc.), and continued to do so after arriving in Asgard. He reads a book or two a day without question, and seeing as that he can memorize long sequences of numbers after glancing at them once and recite or recognize a fair amount of literary quotes after only reading them once, it seems fair to say that he wouldn't forget the spelling of a word once he's read it. Naturally, biological, medical, or otherwise scientific words would be fairly easy to him, and though he may not understand a lot of more modern terms, it seems likely that he would be able to spell a good portion of them or at least pick apart their roots and to give them an educated guess. Being able to rattle off the scientific names of plants and animals without any issues is helpful, okay. Really.
tl;dr because I can't seem to not write essays, HE'D DO WELL. Somewhere in the top 5 or 10, I would say, if not higher depending on the participants?
