Soooo, here's a thought. What about the possibility of building something along the lines of sustainable urban gardens in the city to help with the food supply? It wouldn't completely mitigate the shortage but it might help ease the pinch some, especially if growth users helped.
I know Jamie wouldn't know what a sustainable urban garden is but he knows about having his own small piece of farmland to grow crops for small groups of people so maybe that could be a place to start, especially if he mentions it to others.
