The odds are (n)ever in your favour, Adachi! You've been selected as the token of war in this volunteer position. As the group of messengers leaves Surt's camp, having successfully delivered the letter and sent away brusquely, they will make it halfway across the Fire Giant encampment before all of them are captured. When Adachi is singled out, he will notice that Surt is missing from the proceedings and that these Fire Giants in particular have little regard for their prisoners.

He will not be killed, but he will be in a sorry state for walking the next day when he is cast into the space between the two armies. Sigyn will rush forward to carry him out of the fray just before the battling begins.
