OBLIGATORY TERRIBLE OLD SPICE JOKE OUT OF THE WAY, hi, I'm Lina! I'm brand-new to Asgard (and somewhat nervous about playing in a large game for the first time in a while, oh mannn--but excited!) and, of course, I'm bringing in the title character from Legend of Korra. She's a headstrong, confident athlete with some self-restraint issues (she's learning!!), and she'll be in Thor with the power of strength.

I'm just about to throw up her application on her journal if anyone wants to take a closer look, but for now—for those of you familiar with the series—she's here from the end of episode nine, "Out of the Past," before all the really terribad shit happens but after other slightly less terribad shit has been resolved.

I KNOW YOU LOVE PARAGRAPHS well it's probably less of a paragraph than a typical lina run-on but

okay LOOKING BEYOND THE IMMATURE AMUSEMENT I GET OUT OF IT not only does the meaning itself really fit but there's also how the word itself sounds?? like it sounds really... hissy or sly (I AM NOT AN ENGLISH MAJOR I DON'T KNOW WORDS), and even though mako himself isn't sly, per se, there's the fact that he's willing to do legally-questionable things to achieve what he thinks is best for himself and bolin. so it fits in meaning and in sound to me. if this makes any sense.

AHHH RIGHT right like, it says nothing about honesty, really, in its definition, but just like nose to the grindstone stuff, and. not stopping? which i think, honestly, is a really integral part of mako's character. because he won't stop, if it's something he chooses to keep doing, or wants to FUCKING SUCCEED at, and even if that means he has to veer into the uncharted categories of like PUKE BLOOD BECAUSE HE'S STEPPING UP THAT HARD, he'll do it. AND JUST. yes.
