an actual srsbsns post for once !

Hey, guys! Faith here, that pesky mun behind Arthur Pendragon ([personal profile] pratentious) and River Tam ([personal profile] thoughts), and just recently appointed Odin ([personal profile] asgardswisdom)! There are a lot of awesome things coming up with the end of Arc 1 looming on the horizon, and I'm really excited to be working with you guys (as always, those of you that are familiar with me by now know I can gush for days about how much I love this game whoops).

That said, with the Darkness plot from last month and the Biological Warfare plot that's going down next week, things are picking up heat as we move closer to the foretold war. A lot of people have (ICly and OOCly) been discussing the prospect of facing this huge fight unprepared and unorganised, which is where this post comes in! I wanted to talk to you guys about the idea of finally formalising something like an army within the city's ranks.

Now, Arthur here has been seen running around, trying to gather people together during times of need in the hopes of defending whatever and wherever they can manage. He's been asked a handful of times ICly about whether or not he'll be heading up a militia of sorts, and now that the damage from the Darkness has mostly tided over, I want to hear from you guys first before he can start considering any in-game movements.

How would you feel about Arthur rounding up some of the more battle-oriented minds of Asgard to start recruiting for an official squad of Ass Guardians? This is not something I ever dreamt of organising coming into this game (seriously, you guys overwhelm me with how incredible you are, daily), so anything and everything will be done by your say-so. Arthur might be the Once and Future King, but he's not conquering squat here without permission from his buddies first. :'D

This is 100% open to discussion. The way I see it now, Arthur's plans would be to join rank with the trained military sorts that he's worked with previously or that answer his call to form a body of generals or captains, people that can lead smaller groups of Travellers as they volunteer - and this would be entirely volunteer based. I promise we're not bullying anyone into fighting a war they never asked for, homie don't play that. It would not be a body of government by any means, and they would have no power to dictate the movement or actions of the Travellers. Their one and only function would be to mobilise as a unit whenever the need arises to fight back what foul beasts set upon us by those rude Giants that hate happiness and sunshine and rainbows.

If you guys are okay with this, I'd ideally like to make it happen sometime during or after the BioWarfare plot, because Arthur has been put in charge of distributing that handy dandy immunization and will be once again asking for his able bodied allies to join him in saving the city. If not, I am forever open to alternatives and suggestions, and Arthur will still be doing his own small-scale thing with his friends where it's needed! October will be a busy month for us in preparing for The End of Days (judgment may or may not be nigh), so I'd love to hear what y'all think!

So! Open forum! Any and all feedback, opinions, and cake is welcome and encouraged!

Sophie is absolutely a fighter, but she's also now a wee human-strength girl, and a lot of her combat abilities would be more suited to something like stealth roguing a strike force than organized battle formation. (She might also have a few issues with taking orders she doesn't understand from someone she doesn't trust, but that's a personal problem.)

Is there anything like that in the works?

Honestly, nothing particularly concrete! I was thinking that it'd be something that was more like a division of the army proper than a separate organization, since it'd make a lot of sense if the combat forces were united under the same strategists, etc. if they're readying to fight a proper war.

If there were other people interested in something like this, I'd be happy to do OOC organizing, but IC Sophie's not really in a position where she'd feel comfortable leading or trying to organize anything of scale. Also I'm quite new and I don't want to go stomping invasively around into people's actually-planned-and-CR'd-out things.

Yay! I am super excited. She will probably join up regardless, but a company of similarly-skilled people would be extra awesome.

Jumping in to say Conan'd be up for intelligence/info-gathering stealth stuff -- not that Arthur will want him doing any of that, but Arthur might not have a choice. So that's one more body for the special division.

Yeah, we will be having words about that, Arthur.

By which I mean that Conan will be having words with Merlin. /o/

I am ridic. excited for this, does it show?
