MOD POST: MAY EVENTS
Hey, guys! Faith here with your monthly event rundown coming a bit earlier than usual to give you plenty of time to read and prepare for the upcoming events. May has been affectionately titled Hell Month, so with that in mind, we are going to give in to our malevolent overlords and jump right into things.
As always, your monthly schedule can be found over here.
For May, we have two major plot events running for the full length of the month. You must choose one event to participate in, as the opt-out for the main plot event will take the Travellers outside of Asgard for the entirety of the month. Once the events have begun, you will not be able to switch sides. This means that whichever plot you choose, you must be prepared to commit to it! Give it your full consideration and please don't hesitate to ask us if you have any questions or concerns at any point.
All characters must be signed up for participation in one of the two events by May 1. Sign-ups will be in the comments section of this page, and anyone that has not responded by May 1 will be automatically assigned to the main plot event.
To make things a little bit easier on the eyes, I'm going to go ahead and give a brief outline of the events here for you to get a preview of both, and the full event rundown will be on individual posts so that you don't have a novel to read through. I'm generous like that!
PLOT EVENT: Something Ominous ( May 1-31 / Days 441-456 )
OPT-OUT EVENT: Something Significant ( April 30-May 31 / Days 441-456 )
As previously stated, all characters must be signed up for one of the two events by May 1. Sign ups are below; you simply have to respond with your name so we know how many people will be where for each event. All player plotting should go on your respective event rundown page to keep the two events separate and easier to navigate.
Remember to fill out your AC, and get your friends prepared for May's application period! We have a real treat waiting for them. Let us know if you have any questions / comments / concerns / dirty jokes in the comments section below!

PLOT EVENT: Something Ominous ( May 1-31 / Days 441-456 )
- Yggdrasil's collapse is reaching a fever pitch and bringing the decay right into the heart of Asgard. Those that remain in the Holy City for this month will struggle with disappearances, memory loss, memory gain, and other various horrible things. Every week will introduce a new feature for you guys to play with, and by the last week, all four will be occurring at random in one major clusterfuck centering around the idea of collapse.
There will special volunteer positions available to original characters and characters accepted during May's application period.
This event seeks to be the final motivating push for the Travellers to move into the militarisation of the city, as decided by player poll back in January. It's the final boot towards action, so it's going to be a heavy one!
The full event rundown for Something Ominous can be found here.
OPT-OUT EVENT: Something Significant ( April 30-May 31 / Days 441-456 )
- Following the special volunteer plot from LOCUSTS!, a few Travellers will be coordinating a covert trip to Ginnungagap in search of answers to a cryptic message Odin left in his office. This trip will not be god-sanctioned, which means that travel will be slow, labyrinthine, and potentially fatal. Any Travellers that visited Ginnungagap previously with Honir and Mimir during the Down This Road event may want to offer their experience to help find Laufey's fallen kingdom, but without the gods there to light the path, it may well end in failure. This plot will also deal with some magic, so any Travellers well versed in runic magic may be interested in going alone on this one as well.
Participating in this event comes with a mandatory death-roll, meaning that your character will automatically be entered into a pool to die at some point throughout the event. We will be using RNG to select one-third of the participants for death. There will be special volunteer positions available to three randomly chosen characters out of those drawn for death.
This event contains a plot reveal that will play a very large role in the build-up to endgame and lead to some highly significant player choices to come. It will be a slow-burner, however, so payoff will not come immediately.
