OOC DISCUSSION POST: Putting an End to the End

About halfway through the events of the E.T. Phone Home catastrophe, the gods will push a message (which may or may not have been penned entirely by Freyr) en masse to all bracelets connected to the network. It will cut through the static and network malfunctions to read:
The World Tree is dying. You are resourceful heroes, Travelers, and you've saved this world once already from Thiazi. Now, please: help us save it from itself.

Our resources are at your disposal. Let us work together from now until the end, whenever that might be.
Currently, Asgard has a "stock" endgame in store, but how the events pan out (and what exactly those events are going to be) can be easily influenced by the Travelers interested in doing so. This is a post for OOC discussion about things to do and try, and also a place for handwaving IC research/investigation.

Think of this a little like Dungeons and Dragons: since it's not feasible to expect someone to RP "sitting in the library for two days researching X topic," HERE is an example of how the handwaving will go. Are they writing a letter to the dwarves? Pestering the dragons? Poring over books from the forbidden section of Vanaheim? Let me know, and we'll work out what they find out, and how it could be useful! There is no "right" answer, or certain "revelation" that I'm looking for in particular. If you think your character might get involved, go ahead and post under that heading! If you want to start some non-handwaved IC discussion between characters, you're welcome to do that on Mimir's post when it goes up at the end of the event to invite interested Travelers to Vanaheim. Otherwise, if you'd like to start some OOC discussion with fellow players or me about what there might even be to look into, go ahead and do it here!

HANDWAVED RESEARCH - JAMIE

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2015-02-08 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Jamie will go talk to the dragons, because they've been around forever. Surely there's been prophacies that've not come through, one way or another, and if anyone would know about those, it's them, to his way of thinking.

He'll be looking to see if that sort of thing's happened before, even on a small scale, and how that came about - what sorts of things were changed to make it not happen, if someone stepped in where they weren't supposed to, and so on. And he'd be interested in what they think about Thiazi's death and if anyone would need to step in in her place to set things right.

Also in general he will be around for running bits and pieces of research back and forth if people are trying to coordinate things and the network's not cooperating, or being a research assistant of sorts himself (as in the 'here hold this while I try to save the world Jamie' sort, because that's kinda a familiar thing for him).

Jamie is not surprised by this at all, because the dragons also have very large egos as far as he's concerned. But he will he keep his comments there to an agreeable sounding 'Oh, aye, of course.' He will listen very closely to what the dragons have to say, though, and ask them if wisdom is shared if there is anyone else they would also think would be good to seek out on the subject of the possibility of the changing world tree.

He will also pass along this information to everyone he can find (and especially the Doctors), with the notion that possibly they might want to see if there's a way they can get people to stop the fighting and destroying of things because if that's the case then maybe that will make the mother less upset.

He's curious as to why it's dubious authority, and that would definitely come up as a question - but he would pass that along too, and go to see the gods and ask them what they think. He'd start with Thor because, y'know, his god, but he'd also want to talk to the others (including Honir and Mimir) and ask them about what he's learned from the dragons to get their perspective and see what ideas they would have on the subject. What do they think could be done to change the Mother's moods and stop her from being upset? Or any other things that might be useful, really.

also he still totally wants to go drinking with Thor at some point if he can manage it but realizes now there needs to be other things that have to be done so he'll be good and focus on the important things.

Sure, not a problem. And if needed, I will be happy to hit up inboxes if needed or...whatever, really. I'm flexible. Just let me know!

I'm laughing because lmao, Jamie, dealing with the dragons like you deal with the Doctor. :')

That being said, Jamie naturally has the Doctor's support in all this.

Hey, why fix what works?

And he's definitely passing along information to Doctors since they're the clever ones and probably better at coming up with plans for this than he is, and the Doctors also have Jamie's support. For most things. :/

Like Eleven, Four is more than glad to offer Jamie his support! And whatever ability he has to help argue people round to the point of at least trying to not fight and destroy things, if that might help.
