ASGARD REUNION: WEEK TWO EVENTS
Howdy, howdy, folks! Faith here with our next round of events for the reunion, but first, a couple more announcements:
That all said and done, on with the events for Week Two!
WEEK TWO: The BFGs
As the Holy City recovers from regret-fuelled hangovers following far too much partying in their excitement, two new caravans of visitors arrive on the scene! From the North, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, arrives a group of Fire Giants led by the former King of Fire Giants, who in his rebirth now goes by the name of Bran. From the Southeast, arriving by way of ATVs and hoverboards that cease function at the city border comes the Frost Giants led by the former Queen of Frost Giants, who in her rebirth now goes by Idun.
No alarm bells are sounded, and the Holy City floods into motion with warm greetings and hospitality to their former foes.
Yes, the Giants are here as allies to the Gods in this new era of peace. In fact, they come to seek guidance and companionship of the Travellers that set them on this path to prosperity over destruction. Travellers will be welcomed to travel back to the Giant kingdoms, either via their unique form of transportation or by the portals to their respective castles that stand in the throne room of Asgard's castle: the surest sign of the bridge between the nations.
The Giants that remain in the city will assist with cleaning efforts and invite the Travellers to give their stories and versions of the events from the War over some food and drink. The Giants that leave the city will show the Travellers around their newly built kingdoms, designed now as communities accessible to the world, and welcome the Travellers to add their own touches through a brief hour-long blessing of fire and ice magic respectively.
Bran and Idun, no longer royalty themselves as they answer to the Loki twins as the Kings of all Giants, function now as community leaders in the same manner as any God to their respective District. They will hold audiences with the Travellers to seek their advice or insight. There will be threads available for this.
OPTIONAL HOUSE COMPETITION: Whip Out the Rulers
One night, after a tiresome day of Kingly duties and longing to be outside partying with everyone else, Thor and Loki got outrageously drunk and started arguing over whose Travellers were better than the other's in days of the War. When things turned to fisticuffs and rather disparaging remarks about each others' mothers, the other Gods got involved to end things once and for all.
By having a competition to find out. Because the Gods are very old, very powerful babies.
Characters will ICly be given the opportunity to decide which God House they think they belong in. Rather than choosing OOCly as you would have done when applying into the game, your characters will choose for themselves! If your character doesn't know the Gods well enough to choose one to side with, that's okay - the Gods will basically be setting up booths to fight for your characters' affections. They will explain the same character traits and similarities that you as the player would've used to assign a God House during gameplay, but some of the Gods aren't above using bribery and coercion to get people behind them. ( Sigyn, for example, will be offering a kiss to every Traveller that chooses her! ) You can read about House Powers and how the Gods chose their Travellers during gameplay here.
Travellers will have until sunrise on the day of the competition to decide which God they wish to align with! In that time, they are free to talk to all of the Gods, try goading their friends to one side, or ignore the nonsense of this competition altogether and join the natives on the sidelines with popcorn. They do not have to use characteristics to choose a God if they don't want to; this is really just like voting for Prom Queen. Loki wants his crown and sash, dammit.
At sundown, the real competition begins!
Travellers that have aligned with a God will be granted both of the God Powers for their chosen God as listed on the Houses and Powers Pages. All characters will be at Level Three of their Powers for the rest of the reunion event.
After being granted their God Powers, the Gods will welcome the Travellers into a tournament to fight for superiority. The Arena has been divided into several different "terrains" for the various elements, such as a wintry frozen forest, a scorching desert, etcetera. Imagine a very big, very fancy Pokemon arena with endless possibilities! Travellers can be set up in spars against each other, or they can feel free to simply wander the Arena for fun, or they can set up their own duels to test their abilities or finally make good on old rivalries.
Do what you want, basically. The Gods won't be paying too much attention; they'll be getting drunk and bickering amongst themselves again, too distracted to watch the fights. Freyr will declare everyone a winner, Sigyn will shower roses across the entire Arena, and Honir will hand out gold medals that are actually chocolate coins.
Despair of your Gods, but enjoy your new ( or old ) Powers!
And that's it for Week Two events! The event log for the BFGs is up here, and the log for Whip Out the Rulers is here! Feel free to use this post for plotting and let us know if you have any questions / comments / concerns / dirty jokes in the comments below!
REUNION LINK DIRECTORY
- Last week, we announced on plurk that events would be posted every two weeks instead of every week, to give you more time to finish your threads before we drop more stuff on you. This one came just a couple days late because I was dealing with some RL stuff, I do apologize for that.
We want to take this moment to ask you if the every two weeks schedule works for you, or if you'd prefer we do once a week or once a week and a half. We don't want to rush you, but we also don't want to leave you bored! Whichever timeframe works best for everyone is what we'll go with. Please let us know in the comments below what you'd prefer.- On that note, if you haven't already, following the mod plurk at
assguardians is the best way to keep up with announcements, event posts, and any other mod chatter!
- On that note, if you haven't already, following the mod plurk at
- New quests have been added to the Quest Board! Old quests can still be completed at your leisure; these are hands-off flavor events just to give you some other fun stuff to play with.
That all said and done, on with the events for Week Two!

As a hint hint wink wink nudge nudge, the nine Gods aren't the only Gods that can be chosen for this event! Jormungand, Fenrir, Honir, Mimir, and Frigg will all be on the sidelines enjoying the entertainment, but if one asked to align with them - well, who knows what might happen! If your character is interested in one of them, ask us about it in the comments below!

That's perfect.
She's a Pilot again...and I'm gonna laugh about the other one since that's actually part of what she does/did in her home universe.Alignment with Jormungand or Fenrir

Fenrir will be disinclined to participate at first, responding aggressively to the prospect of a Traveller "selecting" him, until his father swats him over the head and tells him to be accept that he's an adorable pup! After much grumbling and a begrudging spark of pride, he will decide upon two Powers to bestow as the God of Blood and ravenous impulses:
As stated below, your character will not know that they are getting God Powers by aligning with a God. Please be sure to keep this in mind as you make your selection, and as always, be sure to plot ahead of time before using your Powers on other characters. Let us know if you have any questions!
