an actual srsbsns post for once !

Hey, guys! Faith here, that pesky mun behind Arthur Pendragon ([personal profile] pratentious) and River Tam ([personal profile] thoughts), and just recently appointed Odin ([personal profile] asgardswisdom)! There are a lot of awesome things coming up with the end of Arc 1 looming on the horizon, and I'm really excited to be working with you guys (as always, those of you that are familiar with me by now know I can gush for days about how much I love this game whoops).

That said, with the Darkness plot from last month and the Biological Warfare plot that's going down next week, things are picking up heat as we move closer to the foretold war. A lot of people have (ICly and OOCly) been discussing the prospect of facing this huge fight unprepared and unorganised, which is where this post comes in! I wanted to talk to you guys about the idea of finally formalising something like an army within the city's ranks.

Now, Arthur here has been seen running around, trying to gather people together during times of need in the hopes of defending whatever and wherever they can manage. He's been asked a handful of times ICly about whether or not he'll be heading up a militia of sorts, and now that the damage from the Darkness has mostly tided over, I want to hear from you guys first before he can start considering any in-game movements.

How would you feel about Arthur rounding up some of the more battle-oriented minds of Asgard to start recruiting for an official squad of Ass Guardians? This is not something I ever dreamt of organising coming into this game (seriously, you guys overwhelm me with how incredible you are, daily), so anything and everything will be done by your say-so. Arthur might be the Once and Future King, but he's not conquering squat here without permission from his buddies first. :'D

This is 100% open to discussion. The way I see it now, Arthur's plans would be to join rank with the trained military sorts that he's worked with previously or that answer his call to form a body of generals or captains, people that can lead smaller groups of Travellers as they volunteer - and this would be entirely volunteer based. I promise we're not bullying anyone into fighting a war they never asked for, homie don't play that. It would not be a body of government by any means, and they would have no power to dictate the movement or actions of the Travellers. Their one and only function would be to mobilise as a unit whenever the need arises to fight back what foul beasts set upon us by those rude Giants that hate happiness and sunshine and rainbows.

If you guys are okay with this, I'd ideally like to make it happen sometime during or after the BioWarfare plot, because Arthur has been put in charge of distributing that handy dandy immunization and will be once again asking for his able bodied allies to join him in saving the city. If not, I am forever open to alternatives and suggestions, and Arthur will still be doing his own small-scale thing with his friends where it's needed! October will be a busy month for us in preparing for The End of Days (judgment may or may not be nigh), so I'd love to hear what y'all think!

So! Open forum! Any and all feedback, opinions, and cake is welcome and encouraged!

Okay, I should probably add something a little more substantial.

Merlin here is pretty used to rushing into battle alongside Arthur, and while he's pretty awful at the actual fighting bit without his magic, I was wondering if anyone would want to form a group to kind of go along with the army. Basically the medical unit, that can be called on to head into the warzone and help the people who are injured there. Healing on the field and healing in the hospital are fairly different--one being much more dangerous than the other, usually--so this would be completely voluntary, of course. If anyone's interested.

I guess all three of my girls can help in their own ways.

Aeryn's got strength and is looking for things to punch.

Annie has healing. She can help with wounded, just as long as she doesn't have to fight ;-;

Umm Inara has charm so not really sure wtf she can do. BUT actually! She's pretty good with a bow and can fence. So, yeah. I was gonna say she could stand around looking pretty but then I remembered she's actually badass.

Would the healers be involved in the army, or would they be left to organize themselves into their own unit? Because Nakama will always stand behind Arthur, but she's not fighting anymore :(

Sora is a Level Two Healer and will be around Merlin during the Biological Warfare thing but will definitely want to help out more afterwards.

Kira, despite being in the music house, is a power ranger so she does have experience in combat. She can use swords, daggers, and guns if needed since that was what she used back home.

Merlin's a good go-to-guy for anything medical, because while Arthur has been advocating the powers, he hasn't been using them and knows next to nothing about them. Useless.

But yes, good. As long as she is okay with taking orders and working with others (which I assume she is because Power Ranger), then that'll work out just fine!

Samantha is interested tentatively in something like this, given what she's said to Keine. She is, however, concerned about... I don't know... flying off the handle and turning into a crazed monster. Not good for troop morale.

But you get the idea.

Haha Well, s'long as she hasn't got any plans of killing my men, I think we can find a place for her. The biggest factor is likely just going to be whether or not she's willing to follow orders/go wherever she's needed to go.

Castle's... grumbly and tentative, but he might join up with this seeing as how Beckett probably will and he's at least realistic enough to know that his "somehow get out of this" plan isn't going to work. Alexis is here and he's willing to fight for her (and Beckett :3).

Beckett's probably going to train him in some hand to hand combat which will be hilarious and he knows how to use a gun. His power is telepathy. Not entirely sure how useful that will be other than maybe to read the enemy's mind and run left when they go right.

ETA: Forgot about my darling Spencer. He would be more useful behind the scenes working on strategy, perhaps helping the wounded. He's an FBI agent but he's not really a typical G-man type. That said, he also knows how to shoot a gun, but is probably not great at hand to hand combat.

This may be more of a, "what they'll do during disasters" post lol.

lmfao poor Castle. Life's hard. As far as individual combat techniques go, I haven't thought that far yet. Lmfao. I want to get this established first, and then we can spend the month of October/early November getting everyone grouped and trained and at least moderately competent at guarding their asses.

Spencer should probably look into working with the hospital, in that case. I don't have any illusions that they'll be 100% safe and free from the battle, so they'll likely end up needing some people to defend it, at the worst. That'll all be coming up in October too, the mods have some Big Plans for organising everyone. C:

ahaha Yeeeah, I kinda noticed the same thing. XD but hey, I'll take that as you guys sayin' you're down to party, which works for me. I just want to be sure that people are comfortable with the idea before I actually do anything with it.

Sophie is absolutely a fighter, but she's also now a wee human-strength girl, and a lot of her combat abilities would be more suited to something like stealth roguing a strike force than organized battle formation. (She might also have a few issues with taking orders she doesn't understand from someone she doesn't trust, but that's a personal problem.)

Is there anything like that in the works?

While Eyes isn't usually among those who go barreling straight into battle, he can fight using firearms rather well, and can defend even better. It comes when your surrogate mother is a star member of the Special Forces and your half-brother is a trained killer... That said, he's used to fighting alongside others in a sort of underground war for survival, and has wanted a more mobilized plan to defend the city for a while anyway without any semblance of a governing body presiding over it.

What he does excel in is strategy, which entails having as few casualties as possible on his side and even more importantly, retreating alive if things become too dangerous. He's very dedicated to that goal and to keeping those who don't need to be involved out of the way. Power-wise he's in the music house as a Lvl. 2 Bardic Influence, though he doesn't actively or openly practice it.

Frey here is sort-of, kind-of military- He's a prince, not formally trained, but he lead an army back home and led a unit of his own in battle for over a year's worth of time. He's got years more of fighting experience and a good deal of natural leadership skills, but is just as good about following someone as leading if they'll get the job done.

He's actually suggested patrols and groups like this before at times. Frey has been of the opinion Asgard needs more organized defense forces, so he'll be all for this.

Essentially? Yes. He won't claim to be their high general or anything like that, but he will end up being the person gathering everyone together and establishing the guard. I don't think he'd want to give himself any more power or influence than any of the other captainesque positions, but he'd be the person at the head that started it all.

Mary would actually like to be part of this, since with all the sparring/training she's done with Arthur she feels a lot more confident in her ability to defend herself and other people. She's grown really attached to Asgard, and would want to defend it. She's good at taking orders, as much as Arthur probably wouldn't believe it, and would follow him anywhere. :

Kate would be all for this. Just tell her where to stand and when to go, Arthur. You definitely already earned her trust, and in this case, her loyalty. c:

Jo would be a little harder to convince - not so much when it comes to Arthur or anything, but more so that she'd probably check to see what her mother and the rest of the TFW fam is doing. If she thinks she's needed, she'll definitely help out, but she wouldn't jump at the opportunity unless her mom or Sam or Dean were already all for it.

It is late and I am tired, but Conan's seen enough of Arthur in action to give him all the support he can including but not limited to:

- putting out the word. As Merlin can attest, Conan is a tireless info-bot/name-dropper.
- putting the resources of the F.U at Arthur and his teams disposal
-gathering, relaying and dissimating information in times of emergency
- being adorable
- producing dead bodies out of nowhere
- expositioning the hell out of any given situation
- in particular batteries.

Offer may be void in your country. Only available while stocks last; check with your supplier to avoid disappointment.
