MOD POST: PLAYER POLL: GASP SHOCK AWE REPOLL

So! In an unanticipated turn of events, the IC discussion about what to do with Satan ended up swinging in a direction we hadn't put on the original poll. We ended up having a vast majority of the conversation bring up the prospect of temporarily taking Satan's soul to determine once and for all whether or not he was telling the truth about being corrupted before passing judgment. IC development like this is exactly why we love running plots like this, so in the interest of encouraging that growth, we want to take a repoll about what to do with our traitor!

First off is the important decision of whether or not they should investigate further. This would require temporarily killing Satan to remove his soul and do a thorough examination to determine whether or not he was corrupted the entire time he was feeding information to Thiazi. This process would be painless and quick, a matter of maybe an hour or two before resurrecting Satan without any death consequences. Given that information, here's the first poll:

Poll #15899 Killers R Us

Can the gods kill Satan temporarily to determine his innocence or guilt?

No.

IF the gods are given the green light to do this, the results will prove his guilt. Not only was he not corrupted during the majority of his betrayal, he actually infected himself with Thiazi's magic by will and was never possessed by her at all! The gods and the Travellers can only find this out if they kill him first, which depends on the results of the first poll, but if they go through with it and find this information, it may or may not have an effect on your character's vote in his final judgment. To that ends, we're hosting a repoll of the trial's conclusion. Note that these results are only valid if the first poll swings 'yes'. We're mostly putting this here now to save time. Haha

Going grey is still something he'd appreciate though. Satan's main issue is the guilt he feels; he has been feeling and living it for like 5 billion years. So if he goes grey, even if just for a couple of month, it finally gives him some time to rest (even if short). Permanently die until the thing in Asgard is over, too. Killing him and resurrecting him until the point Satan would lose his memories and not being able to function is ALSO welcomed. As long he doesn't have to remember Akira, it's fine.

So all these options ARE the best. Locking him up would be the one that would torture him the most, technically.

Unfortunately, Sam can't quite abide a standard prison option herself right now. The spy's lesson was a real one, that they could turn around and cause still more damage, so she's sort of trying for what she deems to be the crueller option in theory, and one that keeps him under thumb and control, rather than risk him dying forever and a near-identical version from a near-identical world showing up and starting it all over again.

^_^ but yeah, I can see how he'd feel that. Everyone's got their perspectives.

Nobody but the gods would know that Satan wants some rest, anyway. And the gods would have to go through billions of years in memories YEAH THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT. So it's natural most people just assume that would be a cruel punishment

honestly I love it 8D you guys are wicked.

Oh god... yeah, I love it. I love that there's one who would suggest the gray as a kinder alternative and someone as the crueler one. It's fun to watch, and lets me remind folks that, even if Sam is much more emotionally stable and 'technically' a good guy, she's no saint. The woman's got a deep-seated cruel streak a mile long and a bag of issues it's fun to drag out from time to time.

This has been fun. Pity we haven't had the chance to scene as much with these two lately, but I've been enjoying the show. Need to hit Kaworu up with Equius sometime this month.

Ahaha it actually sounds pretty awful to just lose yourself to grey like that, because the person going grey realizes they are slowly losing their emotions and such. AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I READ IN A PLURK?

but yeah, some consider it kinder because they don't kill Satan. Honestly, the guy could care less, just stop him from feeling like that is s'cool, s'cool.

Ahaha yessss.
come to kaworu equius. He always has terrible questions to make.
