You guys have put in a lion's share of effort to do this, so it's time to melt that damned ice, I say!

Holy crap, guys, I can't believe it's November already! This is Faith here with a lot to give you, before we get into your events for the month, we have some big things to announce including a policy change, so please bear with me through it all.

First, I want to give a huge round of applause to our NPC team. Last month's festival was extra amounts of crazy in an effort to give something light-hearted after Bad Moon Rising's drama, and our NPC team took up the ridiculous task we set them in having all of them out and about, going above and beyond what we the mod team could've hoped for in our helpers. They clocked in over two-thousand of the six-thousand comments in the first event log, and that's not including any tag-outs they might've done elsewhere. You guys are amazing and we really can't thank you enough for what you do for us.

And of course, we are so thrilled with the turnout from the players in that event, so thank you guys for being awesome and having so much fun with our silly nonsense. We hope you enjoyed it while it lasted; we will not do anything that impossibly large-scale again. Haha

Second up are some brand new info pages! We noticed some confusion over varying things within the game and kind of wanted to clear that up along with giving out new world-building information, so I've spent the past week or so whipping together four new pages for you guys:
  • On the OOC spectrum, we have Meet the Mods, an info page to introduce new players and old players that might not be terribly familiar with us to your mod team! This is just to give you guys a better idea of who we are and what we do inside the game to help ease that space between mod and player, because we are just players at the end of the day and we want to have a good time with you all.
  • On the IC spectrum, we have the other three pages. These all focus on the Giants and what exactly they are so that when we throw them at you, you can have a better idea of what you're dealing with. Information on these pages is available ICly in the library, but there are certain pages and sections that are not available ICly so please be very careful when you utilise this in game. If you're ever unsure, ask! We're more than happy to help you out.
    1. Meet the Frost Giants; the guide to Thiazi and her minions.
    2. Meet the Fire Giants; the guide to Surt and his minions.
    3. Meet the Earth Giants; brand new information on a brand new aspect to Yggdrasil's backstory. Most of this page is not available ICly. We just wanted to give it to you guys to give you a better understanding of this crazy world you've been playing in.
    • You'll notice the sections on the King and Queens of the Giants are left empty! This information will be filled in at a later date.
    • Remember that the examples of the Giants listed on these pages aren't the only ones that exist, they're just ideas to help you guys along in figuring out what kind of Giants are possible!
We hope these pages help you out a little bit guys. As always, we're available by any of the methods on the Mod Contact Page if you ever have any questions about anything at all.

Third, last month's Holes event introduced the Plague of Plenty! These bards, orphans, and beggars from the Assassin Creed universe have since taken up residence as Asgardian natives, which has brought with them a small upsurge in the Grey Sickness as reflected on the scales over here. Thanks to Jaina for the suggestion! Remember that we will be introducing a new item or feature from canon worlds every month, so submit your canon features in the appropriate comment section below and track the !holes tag for more information on these plots!

POLICIES RE: POTENTIALLY TRIGGERING MATERIAL )

Now on to the fun stuff. Remember that Activity Check is open until November 2 and just for kicks, we have an IC secrets meme over here if you want to submit silly stuff from your characters. As always, your schedule for the month can be found here!

Because the last two months have been jam-packed crazy, this month is going to give a wide berth to kind of settle down and breathe before we jump into our plot event. It's kind of a big one, which I do apologise for sob but it's the build-up to our Arc 3 climax! Very exciting business, so let's get right down to it.

Nov. 5-8: Can We Fix It? )

Nov. 19-30: A House Divided )

29 September 2013 @ 09:36 pm
Hey all! It's Faith here, and it's been two months since my last rundown post, so please forgive any mistakes and inevitable tl;dr. Let's do this!

First, a warm and hearty welcome to Ana, Maddie, Toss, and TJ who joined the NPC helper team with Heimdall, Skuld, Ran, and Surt respectively! Look out for the first three in this month's special event as all of Asgard's friends come to hang out! Surt isn't invited because he's a jerk. Thanks for joining us, guys!

Second, last month's Holes event introduced Swear Toads that can now be found hopping around the lake in Gefion Park, swearing rudely in various languages. Thanks to Ryuuto for the submission! Remember that we will be introducing a new item or feature from canon worlds every month, so submit your canon features in the appropriate comment section below and track the !holes tag for more information on these plots!

And that's it for this month! After the beast that was September's plot, we're making October a little less plot heavy and lot more silly with a player plot and optional plot for later in the month. As always, your schedule can be found here!

Oct. 8-17: Look, A Distraction! )

Oct. 24-29: The Gentlemen )

Oct. 22-31: Opt-Out Plot )

And that's it for the month! I say as though this isn't a monstrously long post. Remember to fill out September AC and meet some new people on the Test Drive Meme. Leave any questions/comments/concerns in the comments section below and have a great October, guys!

29 August 2013 @ 12:41 pm
Hello, Asgard! September is going to be a doozy of a month event-wise, so please take a moment to turn your eyes here. There is going to be a plot that runs for the entire month, involving Thiazi choosing targets out of characters in game and polluting Asgard's network with corrupted magic. This plot has the potential to be very dark, so there will also be a simultaneous opt-out event, where characters can travel to Vanaheim with Freyr and Freya. September will also feature a more lighthearted event at the beginning of the month.

Alright, let's get this party started!

First, a few very quick announcements:

1) The Activity Check is up for the month, and you have until September 2nd at 11:59PM to post! The Monthly Test Drive has thirty characters in it this month! Please poke your head in and take a look -- many people use these threads to determine how well they might fit into a game's setting, or as one of their sample links. Tryt o do your part to make them feel welcome!

2) The results are in from the house contest! Large baskets of lavish chocolate treats and pranks (whoopie cushions, fake mustaches, disappearing ink) will appear in the rooms of the following winners: Sandy's ([profile] morethandream) will come with a ribbon reading "Highest Victim Toll"; Tony Stark's ([personal profile] modernmarvel) will read "Most Embarrassing"; and Steve Rogers's ([personal profile] exloserspromise) will read "Most Creative". Jamie McCrimmon ([personal profile] bonnypiperlad) will receive a smaller basket filled with a mixture of real and rubber fruit, and his ribbon will read "Good try!"

3) The Holes event featuring the ghosts and reapers was a lot of fun! The ghosts were laid to rest once the Reaper's influence faded, and there are only the few left unaffected still wandering around the carnival. The Reapers themselves were sealed into black star sapphires and affixed to the top of the funhouse mirrors in the carnival; enjoy a new haunting attraction and be careful not to break the mirrors!

Remember: A new item or feature from a world can be introduced every month, so we will open up submissions for what will arrive in September! Please submit any ideas you might have in the appropriate comment section below, and remember to track the !holes tag for any information relevant to these events!

And now, September's events! Your calendar is, as always, over here! Be mindful of the dates, however, as we didn't mark the entirety of the month-long events. A quick TL;DR for the plot event is included at the end of this post for reference, followed by an opt-out event for those that do not wish to participate in the darker plot.

Sept 6-9: Fruits of our Labor )

Sept 1-30: Bad Moon Rising )

Plot TL;DR )

OPTIONAL PLOT: We're Taking The Hobbits to Vanaheim )

Questions? Complaints? Suggestions? Please feel free to use the comments here to ask any questions you might have and to start plotting out what your characters will be doing for the month!

AN INTRODUCTION TO HOLES: Reapers

All of the worlds are connected and have remained, until now, separate. Thanks to the earthquake on Day 290 (July 5th), however, great holes have been torn in the veil between this world and the others. Reapers have fallen into Asgard through one of these holes, and it’s up to the Travelers to decide how to deal with them

A timeline of the event - August 15-18 )

What does this mean for you?
  • The spirits are not going to rest until the reapers are somehow stopped or contained. HOW THIS HAPPENS is going to be completely up to you guys! There is going to be a top-level comment below explicitly for planning out how, exactly, these things are going to be stopped.
  • Any ward against ghosts that works in your canon will work against these. Your myths come from somewhere; so do your talismans and spells!
  • Feel free to get creative with the vengeful spirits. We are leaving this a little open-ended on purpose, so using your imagination is definitely encouraged.
  • We will have a Q&A going in the comment section, and we also encourage you guys to use this post for plotting!

This is the first Holes event, featuring objects brought as permanent game fixtures in from characters’ worlds. Up to one unique thing will be brought in each month. For August, Reapers from Euri Taverna’s ([personal profile] occulthymns) world were chosen. Specific details about the monthly Holes drawing can be found here!

27 July 2013 @ 09:28 am
Hello, hello! Faith here with your monthly rundown, but first, a few announcements!

First up, we have some policy changes in the works regarding applications and canon appearances to create a more clear-cut guideline for how much headcanon is acceptable in a canon character application. As this is a bit of a grey area and difficult to find a middle-ground that is fair all across the board, we will continue to discuss our options and have the new rules posted by the start of August's app round. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we figure this one out!

Second, as we welcome in Arc 3, we also want to introduce you guys to a new plot bunny, affectionately entitled Holes! It is exactly what is sounds like: Odin explained to everyone that the earthquake earlier this month tore holes in the veil between worlds, and though the gods managed to sew those holes up well enough, their magic is not powerful enough to seal them forever and things are starting to slip right through the cracks - things from your worlds. All of the details can be found on this page, so please take a look through it, as we are accepting suggestions for this month!

The calendar has Days 311 and 312 (August 15-18) marked down with an optional event. Whichever suggestion we accept this month will be given a tiny optional side-plot to introduce the concept of these new arrivals to both the Travellers and you as players so you'll understand how exactly this process works. It will be something very small and offhand that players can feel free to tinker with or not, but the option will remain there. So go ahead and start discussing your suggestions with your castmates; submissions will be open until August 3! If you want to be alerted for any future Holes progression, ie. new features and optional plots, track the tag !holes in this comm.

Third, just a little bit of housekeeping: we cleaned up the Navigation Page a little bit by adding a secondary directory, the Additional Important Pages ... page. Redundancy is fun, so long as it doesn't clutter up the main page! We'll try to keep only the most important things on the main page and add everything else to this new one so that you don't have to wade through a million things every time you're looking for Housing.

Lastly but certainly not least of all, a big huge massive thanks to Draggy for taking up the reigns for Surt and Heimdall. You rock, momma-mod!

That's all for now! Remember to post to the game-wide HMD as it closes at midnight tonight and is mandatory in order to pass AC, which is also up over here. The mod HMD thread is here and we appreciate any and all feedback you guys might have for us, especially in regards to the end of Arc 2!

Now onto the fun stuff. As always, the schedule can be found right yonder.

July 31-August 8: Turning of the Tides )
August 21-24: Mischief Not-Yet Managed )

And that's it for August. Please feel free to use this post for any and all plotting, as our plot event this month will require a lot of logging to interact with each other. Let us know if you have any questions in the comments section below!

Hi, guys! We’ve got a special modpost for you here, dedicated to just giving information about the fourth wall/visitors event happening from July 5th-11, in order to make things as easy to understand as possible for both current players in the game and for people just stopping by for the event!

The IC rundown! )

OOC details! )

Anyone who is reading this post is free to go ahead and use this post to plot, to ask questions about the event, to comment with who you're thinking about bringing, and to list who you'd like to see others bring! Have some awesome ideas for your Visitor during the event? Want to have him or her appear arbitrarily in someone's bath tub? Want to BEG someone to bring that castmate you've been missing for months for the event? Make it as simple or as complicated as you'd like.. and above all, just make sure you have some fun!

27 June 2013 @ 04:57 pm
Hey guys! We’ve got your calendar ready here for July, and there’s a lot of fun stuff going on right from the gate, so make sure to check it out! Please note: We are having a fourth wall/visitors event that will allow characters who are not in the game temporary access into it. What happens in this event will be game canon, and the event will take place July 5-11. Some of the plot details are listed in the run-down, but we will post more of the specific details just a little bit closer to the actual date in a separate post for easier consumptions for those not in the game!

First of all, a few tiny housekeeping notes!

  • Make sure to hit up the hiatus post when you take a hiatus! We’ll always do our best to work with you during activity check, especially when things come up unexpectedly, but having hiatuses documented makes things a lot easier across the board.

  • Speaking of activity checks... June’s AC is up! Make sure to get your AC in before 11:59PM on July 1st!

  • Remember that the Shrine Blessings are something available to all characters at any time, and that you don’t need to comment on the post to receive them (with the exception of the train tickets to other cities.) Don’t hesitate to use these at any time!

Otherwise, with Arc 2 wrapped up and Arc 3 just beginning, we’re going to have a comment section below for feedback! What did you like, what didn’t you like, what could we improve, etc? Throw it all at us - we want to make the game as awesome as possible, and that involves getting feedback from our players! No matter how large or small you think it might be, we would love to hear it all. (And if you’re not comfortable discussing it with us here, remember that we’re always available via email, PM, private plurk, or carrier pigeon!)

As we move on to the next part of the plot, remember that as of the per the results of the player poll we had back in April that Arc 3 will feature one large plot event and one smaller special event, with a darker, more war-based tone overall. Any feedback about that is also welcome below!

Finally, we just want to go ahead and readvertise the NPC apps that are open! The God NPCs are a great way to get involved in the game, to help with worldbuilding, and to cause a little chaos sometimes, too! Please keep in mind that NPCs are not held to usual AC standards -- we do not expect a set number of comments per month or tag reporting, we just ask that you are available enough to tag when you can. We will never, ever ask you to prioritize an NPC over your own character(s), so if you are interested (or think you just might be interested), feel free to app away or ask any questions you might have!

Okay!! With that said, let’s look at the events we have for July! The calendar can be found here.

July 4-11: Triumph and Travelers )

July 16-21: Somebody’s Poisoned the Waterhole )

And the last event seen on the calendar will be announced a little closer to time, but will remain a mystery until then! As usual, if you have any comments or concerns (or would just like to start some plotting with other players!), feel free to use the comments section of this post. We hope you have fun, and here’s to a new Arc, guys!

29 May 2013 @ 09:32 pm
All righty, guys, this one's a big'un ( and even longer than usual, I am so sorry sob ) so let's just jump straight into this one. The main end-arc plot will last from June 10 - 21 in one massive event with a bunch of other things happening at the same time and another itty event on June 26/27 to wrap everything up in a nice, neat monstrous-end-of-the-world-war bow!

Sound hectic? That's because it should be. THIS IS A LOT OF INFORMATION and while we encourage you to read it when you can, here's a BARE BONES TL;DR for reference and easy access:

June 4-10: PLAYER PLOT, [personal profile] samantha_grey is taking folks to Svartalfheim to deal with the Dwarves. Sign-ups for this are open but limited!

June 10-21: END PLOT ARC! The Travellers are going to be rescuing Freyr's soul from the Ice Queen's clutches in Thrymheim! Lots and lots of chances to get involved here, make sure you take a look and sign up in this post.

June 26-27: Freyr's revival! The city and your characters' powers will be reacting (and flourishing!), so there are lots of details on that inside.

So without further ado, here's your June calendar, guys, let's do this.

June 4-10: Player Plot )

June 10-21: SUPER IMPORTANT MAIN PLOT )

June 26-27: Final Event )

And that is it for Arc 2! Feel free to use this post for plotting, and I'm terribly sorry this post is so long, but we wanted to give you guys a lot of things to work with, even if you didn't participate in the plot event itself. There's a lot of information here, so please don't hesitate to ask us any questions in the appropriate mod threads below! Thanks!

Howdy, howdy! Here is Faith with her very first monthly run-down post for y'all, so please bear with me on any awkwardness or mistakes, as I am prone to both, lbr. But anyhow! Let's start this off with a few quick reminders.

First and foremost, a tip of the hat to the lovely Tosshi and Manda, who as of this month will have officially stepped down from their modly positions. We are eternally grateful for all of the time, effort, love and devotion you guys have poured into this wonderful game. There truly are not enough thanks to go around.

The mod contact page has been updated to reflect these changes. Please do not hesitate to contact AJ, Draggy or me for all of your future modly needs! We are here for you, so do let us know if there ever is anything we can do for you, the game at large, or anything that needs improved upon. There's sure to be some dust as we work through these changes, so thank you for bearing with us!

Second, there are some new features being implemented into gameplay, both ICly and OOCly: IC Contact posts for a few of the gods, an Archive page for old calendars, and updates to the plot doc. There's more information on each of those on this post from a week ago, just in case you didn't see it then.

And for our announcement, we'd like to welcome Waffle to the mod helper team! She will be playing the NPC Jormungand, so let's give her a hearty thank you and keep an eye out for him!

Now onto the super exciting stuff! Here are your events for April, which can always be found on the schedule here.

April 8-12: Sweet Dreams )

April 23-24: Happy Hunting )
And that's it for April! Remember to comment to Activity Check and please direct any questions/comments/concerns/dirty jokes to the appropriate ( or inappropriate? ) mod questions comment below. Thanks!

01 March 2013 @ 05:01 am
Hi guys! Tosshi here with a slightly late monthly rundown. Before I get to the events, I have a few announcements to make!

First, we have a few staff openings. There is an NPC up for grabs on the NC apps page, and we also need a few more app team members. If you'd like to be on the app team, please see this comment in this post for a form to fill out. Please note that app team members are partially chosen based on OOC attitude and whether we know you. App standards can vary wildly from person to person and app judging (especially when friends are involved) can involve discussions and disagreements, so we're only able to put people on the team that we're sure will work with our standards and get along with the whole team. This applies to the NPC team too to a lesser extent.

Second, almost all of the game info has slight updates. I've gone through and updated the flavor text to match the progress the game has gone through since opening and to clarify a few slightly confusing points (like hiatus options and canon updates). The only real change is that as of now, Loki's stupid-ass guide is now shown the first time a bracelet is turned on and can be accessed at any time by a link. You guys asked for it. ;) The plot GDOC has yet to be updated but will be very soon.

Third, a mod team change! After a year and four months of modding Asgard, I'm going to be stepping down from the mod team at the end of this month. It's been a great time and I love this game dearly, but I'm feeling a bit burnt out on modding it and would like to move on to a new project and you guys don't deserve my lag. The current rest of the team are really great people and have been doing the majority of the non-app work (mostly everything but the schedule and these plot posts tbh) lately, so I'm 100% confident that they'll do a great job without me! I'll be staying on with my NPCs and on the app team, as well as sticking around as a player. Also, for the rest of March please start directing comments/questions to the other mods or to the mod journal/email/plurk as a whole. I'm here to answer any world-building questions that you'd like clarified before I leave, but otherwise I'm going to be pretty much gone outside of running the plots this month. At the end of March I'll be completely off the team! Lastly, for now the current team is going to see how they fare on their own. If they need to open mod apps they'll do so at their own discretion. Thanks everyone for being such great players and making the game I created a wonderful experience!

Fourth, how are we doing? We'd like to ask you guys to use the discussion thread below to talk about how you think the game's going. What changes would you like to see? What systems do you like or dislike? Let's see what we can do to keep the game going strong!

Fifth, we're canceling the plan to have monthly Utgard logs. The first one was pretty much unused and we forgot the second, so there's not much point to them! Your characters can always go to Utgard whenever they like, so feel free to do your own open logs if you send someone!

And now onto the plots for March! You can see the calendar here as usual.

March 8-11: New Year's Bloom )

March 22-28: Under the Sea/The Pursuit of Knowledge )

Please direct any questions to the appropriate mod questions threads below. Thank you!

HEY GUYS TOSSHI HERE ON A CHARACTER ACCOUNT. :")

So you may have seen Loki's post over here. This is the kick-off for this arc! This is the plot referenced in the monthly run-down here. In short, the characters are choosing whether to save Freyr or kill Freya. But of course, the players' wishes might not line up with the wishes of whichever characters make it into the IC discussion, so we're having an official poll here. If you don't like either option, you can vote "other", but please let us know why and what you'd suggest instead.

We're also polling on when's the best time to run the resulting event. Either way it will be an opt-in expedition to an under-sea city and some awesome deep-sea ruins. There will only be enough time ICly to find one of the two possible info bits. We'll either run the plot in March or April, whichever is easier for you guys! We'll give another poll at the time of that plot as to when the last one of the Arc will happen (May/June if the first is in March, June/July if it's in April).

Please only vote once per player If you vote twice by accident, ping a mod and we'll remove one of your votes for you, no problem! As always, questions go in the thread below. Thank you!

Open to: Registered Users, detailed results viewable to: Just the Poll Creator, participants: 53

Which route should the plot take?

Rescuing Freyr
42 (79.2%)

Destroying Freya
9 (17.0%)

Other? (please comment on the post)
2 (3.8%)

When should the next Plot Event go down?

Early March
13 (26.5%)

Late March
24 (49.0%)

Early April
8 (16.3%)

Late April
4 (8.2%)

First I'm going to go over the miscellaneous announcements.

25 October 2012 @ 09:25 pm
Hey guys! It's that time again, and it's super super important to read up on the plotting this time! Unfortunately, there won't be an alternate opt-out plot for this, since it is the arc-ending plotting. Do remember though that there will be a nice big breather after this, so it won't be crazy for long!

The end-arc plotting lasts from November 2 - 17. However, the actual events of the plot are spaced out a bit. Here's a timeline of what will be happening!

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS )

And now, another thing! Due to some real life stuff, Yana has had to step out of her mod position. This means we are in the market for a full-time mod. Primarily, you'll be helping update the taken/housing/player contact lists, process drops, and tally AC. You will of course be privy to all mod info and welcome to answer questions, as well as helping us making major decisions as a team and providing your input on player conflict issues. A mod needs to be willing to talk to players, ask and answer questions, and take initiative to get things done without being reminded every time. Additionally, you need to be able to get along with the rest of the team. You'll also be asked to add Tosshi on plurk even if it's just with a dummy account, as a lot of real-time discussion and pinging about tasks happens in cliqued plurks.

If you're interested, please see the appropriate mod comment below. Mod apps will be public, as the mod position requires being open and talking to players. We will be accepting applications til 12:01am CST on Nov 1. If you as a player see a mod app from someone you strongly object to, please let us know asap. It's better to sort those things out early!

And lastly, any questions about plotting or the mod position can be directed to the mod questions threads below! Thank you for reading!

18 October 2012 @ 08:43 pm
Hey guys! Sorry this is a bit late. Here are the chosen leaders for all the "groups" in the last plotting post! As a note, we didn't get as many leadership candidates as we thought (and in the watches not a ton of volunteers at all) so we only picked two official IC "leaders" for the first two groups and one for the Watches. We expect the watches will have a lot of coming in and out ICly so anyone is welcome to take OOC initiative who'd like to!

Medic Corps
John Watson (film)
Castiel

Army Engineers
Fayt Leingod
Rapunzel

District Watches:
Odin
Ririchiyo Shirakiin

Thor
Robb Stark

Loki
???(Data Roxas)

Sigyn
Lyra

Hel
Sophie Gargamel

Heimdall
Edmund Pevensie

Freyr
Eyes Rutherford

Freya
Mike Chilton

Baldr
Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad

The job of a leader ICly is to keep people organized and have a go-to for talking to the gods if necessary. OOCly is to set up plot posts and be active in plotting amongst the players involved in the groups. For non-leaders, you are welcome to join or leave these groups at will through the end of the Arc. Whether you're a leader or not, you are also welcome to plot with multiple groups and be around as much or as little as you have time for. These groups are not being mod-run, but if you would like NPC involvement or need to ask questions we're always available to help out however you guys need us! :) Feel free to be spontaneous and make some lovely new CR!

You may also use this post to do any plotting amongst your groups, though leaders are also welcome to make ooc comm plotting posts just for their groups if they'd like. If there are any questions, you can direct them to the Mod Questions thread below!

Hey guys! It's a little belated, but here's the October plots! Stick around afterwards, since there's an important reminder about our policies.

THE MILKENING )

FINAL ARC 1 PLOTTING BEGINS: UNEXPECTED ALLIES )

Please remember that due to this plotting, there will be no app round in November. Apps will resume their monthly schedule in December.

AND LASTLY, a reminder about our policies on OOC conflicts. If there is ever a case where you feel another player is bullying you or otherwise making you uncomfortable, you can always come to us with it. We do our best to be fair to everyone involved, and we are always available to mediate discussions between players who want to work things out between them or to discuss options for problems that have gone beyond simple mediation. We have no tolerance for serious bullying, and do not have a strike system with these offenses. While most cases result in a discussion and warning, severe cases of bullying or harassment can result in a ban on first offense.

Also, you are always, always encouraged to come to us with feedback about the mod team. If it's a mod or helper that's made you uncomfortable, please contact one of the other mods through their personal plurk/im/pms! We will keep your identity secret in any conflict where possible, and the mods are never above our own conduct rules.

While we're talking about this, we'd also like to officially lay out our policies on the player of objectionable/controversial/frequently triggering content. If you are not comfortable even reading about the playing of rape/abuse/etc, please stop here.

Our policy on these things is very simple. We do not police the content of threads in Asgard. If you would like to play situations of gore, abuse, drug use, rape, etc, you are allowed to do so. However, you must always comm lock and leave clear warnings for this content. If there is a warning, it's understood that those uncomfortable with the topic will not subject themselves to the threads containing it. You must also always, always ask permission and allow players to opt out of involvement with the subject, even if it means stretching ICness (in not having your victim character talk to an IC friend with a mun who is not comfortable, etc) or going otherwise out of your way. Pushing other players into playing these sorts of things or retaliating against them for declining to is an immediately bannable offense. We will not tolerate that kind of harassment under any circumstances, though you will be given opportunity to explain any questionable behavior before decisions are made.

On the other hand, harassing and bullying players for playing something you don't like is also unacceptable. You are welcome to think something is not tastefully portrayed and to talk about/crit on the subject, but if it crosses the line to bullying it will be handled just like any other case of harassment regardless of what subject was being played out.

In all cases of OOC issues, your privacy will be respected and we will make the fairest decision possible. We always do our best to keep the game safe and comfortable for everyone, so please never be afraid to approach us for help! :)

That's it for this month! Questions as always can be directed to the appropriate thread below!

Okay guys, here is your sliiightly more detailed rundown of this plot. Most of it was in the original plot post here, but here's the rest of the info!

When the rain clears, outside the north gate of the city is going to be a fleet of wood and clockwork steam-powered machines! General war machine types of things like tanks and catapults and etc will be there, as well as a train that floats three feet from the ground and what appears to be a clockwork mecha (yup). With this have come the elves and their queen, who happens to be a very friendly young (3500 young) lady who is totally and completely not dating one of your gods. Not at all.

The elves will set up camp and there will be an open log for exploring! However, they're not going to let people do much with their stuff other than the train. This is because the train is full of building supplies and medical supplies to aid with the cleanup after The Darkness event business. They'll be polite people, mostly tall and pretty, who will be reservedly happy to help fix up whatever and whoever needs fixing. The queen will be grabbing Merlin and pulling him aside for a chat, and then the Travellers will have her side of things without filtering through the gods. The gods will also make a formal address on the 31st, so look out for that!

Now with that addressed, we have a few other misc things.

First of all, the player version of the Plot Notes Google Doc is now available! It should give you an idea of what's going on and has some juicy worldbuilding info as well. We'll be linking in in all the right places soon, and updating navigation and the like. We'll also be fiddling with the FAQs a bit to add a couple of things that have come up in questions a lot. Navigation on the sidebar will be including the business comm at least if not another important thing or two soon!

AND SPEAKING OF BUSINESSES! First of all, please welcome Jamie ([personal profile] makiri) as our new business helper! She is 100% in charge of player-run businesses, and her info can be found on the mod contact page.

One thing she already has for us is a convenient tag on the business comm for business the owners have left behind. If your character has inherited one of the businesses in this tag, or if you know the original owner wanted it closed/NPC'd, please let us know in the proper thread below! Characters inheriting businesses need to have set this up with the previous owner(s) or made it official with the mods already.

If you have any questions about any of this, please see the appropriate threads below and ask away!

Hi guys! It's that time again! :) One of the June events is super close, so read this asap! BUT FIRST, we have a couple of standard reminders.

1: Remember to tag your posts! This includes posts you comment on and logs you participate in! It's important for various reasons, so we'd really like it if you guys would do your best to keep up. Also, always make sure when tagging other characters names into a post that you use their existing tag if there is one to avoid having extra tags. If you notice a typo tag or a character with two tags, let the mods know so we can clean it up.

2: Remember to post your drops/hiatuses! It is a major pain in the butt when people drop without using the drop post. Please don't idle if possible! Dropping makes things easier for everyone, and it's only one short form. Do not make an ooc post instead of commenting to the drop page. OOC comm drop notices are great when you want to make them, but they are not a substitute for using the forms. The same goes for hiatuses: we'd rather you take a just-in-case hiatus and then actually make activity than not take a hiatus and then have to ask us to make exceptions for you. We're not obligated to say yes to those exceptions and we only will if you had a genuine extenuating circumstance, so it's better to make sure your hiatuses are officially posted.

3: Make sure your Taken List info is correct! Again, we swept journals that weren't on the taken list the other day. While most of these were drops and a few were mistakes (and please let us know if you were one of those mistakes), there were also some that were new characters who never commented to the lists. We also had a few cases of people putting their personal journals, canons, or other things instead of the correct usernames, which were all manually fixed while working on the sweep. Just be careful when you fill out the form and be sure you do fill it out. Same for rooming!

That's all for reminders! And now, on to the June Events!

June 1-2: Act Your Age! )

June 10-17: Rising Waters! )

June 23-27: The Trouble with Camping! )

And that's all for June! As always, mod questions comments will be below, so hit us up if you're confused!

It's that time again! Time for what? Another declaration of war, that's what.

This time, the Frost Giants have something to say, and they want all of Asgard to hear it.

Starting The 18th, and lasting until the 21st (IC days 39 and 40), the temperature is going to suddenly drop. A cold wind will blow, bringing mostly-unintelligable whispers through the streets. If you listen close enough, you can get the message; the Queen is angry, and her time of sitting silently on the sidelines is over. She's acting, and she's doing it in a much more dangerous way than the flashy messenger the Fire Giants had to send.

Roaming the streets are what appears to be large fairies made of ice. They're roughly the size of a two-year-old human child, though they look much older. They're extremely beautiful, whimiscal, and all-around just pleasant-looking. Your characters may be fooled at first, but they'll soon find out that these are not friendly visitors. When sighted by these creatures, your characters will be attacked. Do be careful--too much physical contact with these little fairies will give you some nasty frostbite. Be sure to be bundled if you're going out, everyone, because you'll want to be protected from the sharp claws on these suckers. They'll shred your clothes, be wary!

Someone who is decently trained in combat could take on one or two at a time (If your character would be level 5 in an MMORPG, these monsters would be level 6). They look like they're made of ice, but they're much harder to break than normal ice would be. You don't need to use your powers to kill these, though--if you pick up a crowbar and beat one in the face until it breaks, it will die just fine.

Once they've all been killed, which we are assuming will be by the end of day 40, the temperatures will rise again and the wind will stop.

For more information on the weather changes, refer to the calendar/schedule in the mod journal!

Thank you.
